2012 United Way Campaign Chairs

Christine Devine, CEO of KV Federal Credit Union &

Tracey Tapley, CFO of KV Federal Credit Union

I am excited to be chairing this year's United Way campaign because it is important to me to make a difference right here in Kennebec Valley. Through United Way, we can help many different organizations in our local area through the combined efforts of local people in our community. What does United Way mean to me...changing a life, right here in Kennebec Valley.

- Christine Devine

The importance of the United Way campaign to Kennebec Valley makes the opportunity to chair this year’s campaign a humbling experience I am very much looking forward to.  Over the past year as a volunteer on the allocations committee I have witnessed the generosity and dedication from the people of our community and can think of no greater experience then to be a part of the United Way organization.  United Way to me means lending a hand to change a life right here!

Big Sister
Emily, a local real estate agent, always thought that she would like to volunteer in her community but did not know how or where. Though one of her co-workers, Emily was introduced to the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in Augusta. She was so impressed that she signed up and went through the training to become a Big Sister.

Amanda, age 11, was in need of a mentor in her life. Her mother had passed away and her sister was diagnosed with autism, which left a lot less time for Amanda's needs. She has been paired up with Emily as a Little Sister, and the bond has helped them both. Emily and Amanda are thankful for your donation to United Way.
