2012 Campaign Themes & Goals
With the challenges we are all facing in these tough economic times, the need for United Way funding is greater than it has ever been.
2012 Theme: You Can Change A Life - Right Here
In 2012 we decided to continue our theme of You Can Change A Life, but we added "Right Here." This was an important addition for this year as our Campaing is being chaired by Christine Devine and Tracey Tapley of KV Federal Credit Union. They focus on local busines and wanted to carry that over into the Campaign this year, showing that it's not just anyone's life that is changed by partnering with United Way, it's the person you meet on the street, run into at the gocery store, a neighbor, and the list goes on. Every one of us is just one crisis away from needing the assistnace of one of many prgorams that partner with United Way. Isn't it good to know that you are helping change the lives of fellow Kennebec Valley people? And in addition, your life is changed by being a part of it. A Phone Call
Just having been laid off, Peter was concerned as to how he and his family would get through this tough time. At his past job, he had given to the United Way through payroll deduction and remembered the 2-1-1 information line the speaker had told them about. Peter called 2-1-1 and told them his situation. They were very kind and directed him to a number of resources that could assist him in his time of need. He has since gone back to work and is still giving to the United Way.
