The Tocqueville Society

The Tocqueville Society recognition program is designed to involve and deepen the understanding, commitment and support by Leadership givers to United Way.

Membership in the Society is granted to individuals who contribute at least $10,000 annuall-y to the United Way.

Like Alexis de Tocqueville, members of United Way’s Tocqueville Society are people of vision. Members see the social problems of today and help create solutions that will shape tomorrow.

Boys & Girls Club
As a young teen, Tommy did not really fit in with the regular crowd at school and started hanging around with kids who got into trouble. Worried that he would fall to the peer pressure of the group, his mother got him interested in the Boys & Girls Club for Teens in Augusta. Here he had a safe place to go after school. Tommy could use the computers, get help with homework, be creative and make new friends. Since starting at the Club, Tommy has turned his path in a more positive direction.
